Key Features

Single point of access
MasterCare solves the problem of multiple logins to many different systems by providing one login which gives access to any data provided to the Clinical Data Repository (CDR). Smartcards and biometric authentication can be supported.

Whole of patient view
MasterCare with its centralised CDR, which incorporates data from many disparate systems, is patient centric and facilitates looking at a clinical overview of patient information.

Clinical decision support
Bringing together disparate clinical data into one repository and making it available for use by clinicians enhances decision support enormously, Furthermore, features such as interaction checking and dose range checking in the prescribing module take decision support to another level.

Simple fast and easy to use
MasterCare uses standard Internet paradigms to make navigation and use simple. The system has been designed (with feedback from real users) to be as efficient as possible.

Flexible to meet clinical requirements
MasterCare is flexible in many ways to make administration and usage easier. Administrators can configure roles to allow or deny access to any part of the software. Users who don't have access to a function simply don't see it as a choice. Pathology results are displayed using a template system so that Hospitals and clinicians can have results displayed as they would like them.

Discharge summary templates also allow unlimited customisation. The core system is designed to be flexible and modular so that new components can be added simply and easily without disturbing already working components.

A Proven Solution
MasterCare is currently live at the Royal Women's Hospital Melbourne and at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne since June 2001, meeting the mission critical information needs of clinical staff on a 7 x 24 hour basis. MasterCare has also been implemented in Area Health services across NSW since 2002.

An Attractive Graphical User Interface
Our browser based graphical user interface is attractive, fast and easy to use and provides a single means of viewing all electronically held patient information.

A robust Clinical Data Repository (CDR)
The CDR replicates all data for clinical viewing in a SQL Server or Oracle database, which uploads information in real time from core patient related databases eg, Patient Administration System, Pathology and Radiology Systems etc. The database provides an additional level of redundancy - providing the capacity to work on or migrate core patients systems while minimising impact on clinical users.

Full Web Enablement
MasterCare is a web-based product requiring only a web browser on the client for full functionally. It provides standard browser type navigation and allows security based access and messaging to external providers and agencies.

Incorporates E-Switch Technology
The MasterCare solution incorporates our e-switch “middleware” technology providing a standards-based interface for linkages and external e-health links. e-switch can streamline systems integration requirements and provide the basis for efficient messaging.

Efficient Implementation
MasterCare and E-Switch allow easier technical implementation, roll out and support, while training efforts are minimised through MasterCare’s easy to use navigation and design, which is familiar to all Internet users.

Strong Clinical Capability
The MasterCare development is led and supported by clinician’s expert in CIS design, development and operations. As former practicing clinicians they are directly focused on the needs of clinician users and their desire to provide the best possible care for their patients.
