Global Health Limited (GLH) is pleased to announce that the Goulburn Valley Division of General Practice (GVGP) eCommunication Project has extended into the local community public hospital, with Goulburn Valley Health to implement Global Health’s electronic referral management system – ReferralNet eRMS.
Goulburn Valley Health will implement ReferralNet eRMS in the coming months, enabling over 60,000 outpatient and emergency department letters and notifications to be sent electronically to local healthcare professionals using ReferralNet eRMS.
Goulburn Valley Health CEO, Ms Kerryn Healy, stated that,
“Initially, ReferralNet eRMS will be used for outgoing letters to GPs in the Goulburn Valley area from the hospital. The GPs in the community are keen for this important initiative which will provide real cost savings for both the hospital and the GPs.”
The implementation of ReferralNet eRMS will strengthen GVGP’s eCommunication Project following the success of the initial ReferralNet pilot started in August last year. CEO of GVGP, Shane Boyer, said,
“This is an exciting progression and will only further strengthen eHealth and secure messaging in the Goulburn Valley Community. The ReferralNet technology platform and support from Global Health through the pilot has been crucial in our quest to improve information flow between our local GPs and Goulburn Valley Health.
“With the full support of the Division’s Board of Directors, ReferralNet has been implemented across a number of our GP clinics, the After Hours GP Medical Centre and Navigating Life Service as well as into a number of specialists in our region. It has worked well and we are now integrating it into our Diabetes Prevention Program."
Over the past 6 months Global Health and GVGP have worked together, installing ReferralNet into 19 local GP clinics, the Division’s After Hours GP Medical Centre and Navigating Life Service, the Specialist Consulting Suite at Goulburn Valley Health (comprising more than 40 specialists), the Paediatric Consulting Rooms, and a local group of 5 general surgeons (Shepparton Surgical and Endoscopy Group).
