MasterCare EMR Awarded Windana CMS Tender
Leading provider of Client Management Systems (CMS) for organisations working in the Mental Health and Healthcare sector, Global Health, has completed the full implementation of a new and more sophisticated data collection system, MasterCare EMR, for Windana Drug & Alcohol, a not for profit organisation offering integrated solutions to more than 2,000 clients annually.
The Victorian Government’s Health Department last year announced changes and streamlining of data reported to the Department. These were necessary in the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector to allow for better quality data, greater simplicity in reporting for providers and better understanding of clients’ needs and trends.
The new data collection changes, from the previous Alcohol and Drug Information System (ADIS) to the Victorian Alcohol and Drug Collection (VADC), includes providers submitting their data in the same way and within the same timeframes, from their own CMS.
Currently MasterCare EMR is used by 110 Community Health organisations, incorporating 8,000 clinicians, and with its proven track record and systems which support the new standards for Victoria and other States made it an ideal choice for Windana.
MasterCare’s systems allow for both the clinical and demographic data of patients to be tracked over time, one of the new reporting standards now required by VADC.
As clients often see different providers at different times, depending on the stage or requirements of their recovery, data collection was previously more complex and less useful than the now enabled long term tracking of each client across all their interactions and treatments.
As well as providing the required reporting standards, the solution includes: Episode Management (in-patient and community), Referral Management, Data Warehouse, Templates and Forms, Appointments and Scheduling, Interface Useability, Modern and Open Architecture and Security.
Kye Cherian, Global Health’s Manager of MasterCare EMR, says the choice and subsequent implementation of its EMR by Windana is an example of how the Company’s design offers an ideal solution for providers of a range of services, often needing team-based care, to their clients.
“Not only is our system strong in providing mental health services, but also in the surrounding services such as Alcohol and other Drugs”, he says.
Winning the Windana tender is another nod to MasterCare EMR and secures the software as the market leader in data collection support for Victorian state-funded health programs.
Windana is a leading Melbourne-based drug and alcohol treatment centre specialising in holistic, client-focused recovery services programs. Clients choose from residential and a range of supportive community-based recovery and rehabilitation programs.
