28 May Global Health wins contract for ReferralNet Connectivity across Frankston-Mornington Peninsula
Global Health is pleased to announce the winning of a contract with Peninsula Health to deploy the Company’s MasterCare Connect, ReferralNet Secure Messaging and LifeCard™ platforms across the Frankston-Mornington Peninsula region in Victoria.
The Peninsula Health network covers an area of approximately 900 square kilometres with a population of over 300,000 people, and a continued seasonal influx of visitors of up to 100,000. The population is growing at a faster rate than most other regions, with a growth rate of 18.9% predicted over the next decade.
Peninsula Health covers communities in the local government areas of Frankston, Mornington Peninsula and part of Kingston. It covers a bayside area bordered by Chelsea/Edithvale to the north, Langwarrin and Hastings to the east and Flinders and Portsea to the south.
MasterCare Connect is Global Health’s web-based Provider Portal for health professionals to collect, access and securely share patient information from anywhere at any time. MasterCare Connect is certified with the government’s eHealth infrastructure elements such as the myHealth (PCeHR) Record, Health Identifier (HI) Services, Secure Messaging Delivery (SMD) protocols and a variety of documents such as eReferrals, Discharge Summaries, Event Summaries and Specialist Letters that use industry-standard Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) formats.
MasterCare Connect incorporates Global Health’s ReferralNet Secure Messaging platform that securely manages the exchange of documents such as inbound referrals, progress notes, hospital discharge summaries, pathology and radiology results between healthcare providers.
Global Health’s LifeCard platform is a person-centric electronic Health Record (PHR) for consumers to record their key lifetime health information from their multiple health encounters across both the public and private sectors. Additionally, LifeCard is positioned to collect personal data from the growing personal (wearable) and remote medical monitoring devices that are emerging in the market. Increased consumer engagement with their healthcare providers is seen as the key to empowering consumers to pro-actively manage their health and wellness.
Global Health will be working closely with three key organisations — Frankston-Morning Peninsula Medicare Local (FMPML), Frankston-Mornington Peninsula Primary Care Partnership (FMPPCP) and Peninsula Health — for the deployment of the Company’s connectivity platforms across the region.
The Connectivity project will cover a wide range of health and community organisations in the region including:
Over 1,000 GP, Specialist and Allied Health Practices;
50 Community Health Organisations (including Schools and Aged Care Facilities); and
5 Enterprise organisations including Peninsula Health.
Peninsula Health’s decision to choose Global Health’s connectivity suite confirms Global Health’s reputation as Australia’s best Secure Message Delivery (SMD) platform to support cross-segment messaging and patient engagement. This project will continue the growth in Global Health’s secure messaging volumes and footprint in Victoria.
Global Health CEO Mathew Cherian says,
“This is a great opportunity to work with the broad variety of organisations involved in healthcare to demonstrate the productivity gains from digital connectivity. The key benefit for people living in the Peninsula region is the ability to ‘tell your story once’ and have your team of carers working with you to keep you healthy and well.
We are privileged to have been selected in a hotly contested competitive process of such significance. In many ways, it is further endorsement of the productivity gains made in a number of other health innovation projects we have been involved in. We set out to be recognised as the premier platform for connecting clinicians and consumers and this contract consolidates that vision.”
